Core Capability

Measurement, Control, Analysis and the Plant Behind Them.

Instrumentation, building control and revenue metering are the core lines. Data analysis sits above them. Home automation applies the same discipline to a house. Solar and water services complete the picture where a site needs power and water as well as measurement.

3.1

Instrumentation and Measurement

Tungatech supplies, installs and configures field instrumentation for process, utility and building services applications. Instrument selection is driven by the measurement the client requires, the operating range of the plant, and the accuracy the downstream calculation demands.

  • Flow measurement, including ultrasonic and inline flow meters for water and process duties
  • Level measurement for tanks, reservoirs, sumps and borehole installations
  • Water detection and leak sensing for plant rooms, server rooms and basements
  • Environmental monitoring covering temperature, humidity and air quality parameters
  • Electrical metering and submetering for current, voltage, power factor and energy
  • Electricity and gas billing meters, including split and prepayment configurations
  • Signal conditioning, transmitter configuration, loop checking and calibration verification

Every instrument is commissioned point to point. The measured value is verified against a reference before the point is accepted, and the point name, engineering unit and scaling are recorded in the handover documentation.

Every stage of the loop is verified before the point is accepted.

Building Management and Plant Control

Sequence of operation development and controller programming, with the operator interface built against the sequence rather than around it.

DALI Lighting Control

Addressing, commissioning and scene configuration, with the addressing schedule recorded at handover.

Energy Monitoring and Reporting

Submetering strategy and consumption analysis, designed so the meters answer the question the client actually has.

Home and Small-Building Automation

Lighting, security, water and energy management for residential and small commercial buildings.

CCTV and Access Control

Installed against a documented coverage plan rather than to a camera count.

Multi-Vendor System Integration

Open protocols where they exist, purpose-written interfaces where a manufacturer offers no standard route.

3.2

Building Control and Automation

Tungatech designs and delivers control systems that act on measured data rather than display it. Scope covers the controller, the field wiring, the control logic and the operator interface.

Where an equipment manufacturer presents a limitation, Tungatech investigates the engineering route before recommending replacement hardware. Register-level interfacing, protocol conversion and custom application programming have each been used to connect systems that were never designed to communicate with one another, which often saves the cost of replacing working equipment.

Systems are handed over without temporary overrides, disabled interlocks or undocumented logic in place.

3.3

Data Analysis and Software

Measurement produces value once it is analysed. Tungatech develops the reporting and analysis layer above the control system, and writes purpose-built applications where no suitable product exists.

  • Trend and meter data analysis, anomaly identification and consumption profiling
  • Reporting dashboards for facilities, energy and operations teams
  • Custom application development and system interfacing
  • Information technology consultancy supporting the above

Home and Small-Building Automation

The same control discipline applied to a house. Lighting, security, water, climate and energy brought onto one system, commissioned properly, and documented so the next person can work on it.

Most home automation in Zimbabwe is sold as a box of devices and an app. It works until the installer leaves, a device drops off the network, and nobody can say why. Tungatech treats a house the way it treats a plant room: a device schedule, a written control philosophy, a commissioned system and a maintenance route back to a single accountable party.

Load shedding and borehole supply are the two facts that decide most Zimbabwean home automation designs. A system that ignores either becomes an expensive light switch.

Lighting

Scene setting, dimming, occupancy and daylight control, and external lighting on schedule. DALI where the installation justifies it.

Security

CCTV against a documented coverage plan, access control, gate and door automation, intrusion detection and alarm routing to a phone.

Water

Tank level indication, borehole and pressure pump control, dry-run protection, leak detection and automated irrigation.

Energy

Consumption monitoring by circuit, solar and battery state of charge, load shedding response, and geyser and pool plant scheduling.

Climate and Comfort

Air conditioning control by zone, temperature and humidity monitoring, ventilation, and curtain and blind automation.

One Interface

Every subsystem on a single app and wall interface, with local control that keeps working when the internet does not.

01

Design and Device Schedule

A room-by-room schedule of what is controlled, by what device, on what protocol, and what the system does when the power or the network fails. Agreed before anything is bought.

02

Installation and Commissioning

Wiring, device addressing, scene and automation configuration, and every function tested against the agreed control philosophy rather than demonstrated once and signed off.

03

Handover and Support

Device schedule with names and locations, the automation logic written down, household training, and a support route that does not depend on the installer remembering the job.

Home automation devices are sourced through a supply relationship with LifeSmart. Tungatech makes no claim to exclusive distribution rights for any manufacturer, and specifies whatever device suits the application rather than whatever is in stock.

3.5

Power and Water Services

Tungatech delivers solar photovoltaic and water infrastructure work, both as standalone installations and as part of a wider instrumentation or control scope. Measurement and control are built in from the start, so the system reports what it is producing and using.

Solar Photovoltaic

Photovoltaic and hybrid inverter systems, from 1.5 kVA residential through to light industrial installations.

Solar Borehole Pumping

Solar-powered borehole pumping, storage tank and pressure systems.

Water Infrastructure

Water surveys, borehole siting, drilling supervision and reticulation.

Irrigation

Irrigation control and monitoring, tied back to level and flow measurement where the scope allows.

Supply Relationships

Equipment Specified on Technical Fit and Landed Cost.

Tungatech sources instrumentation and automation equipment through established supply relationships, which allows equipment to be specified on technical fit rather than on local availability.
